Group learning
I think group learning is essential to learning. As students grow older and move into the working environment they will have to work in groups. This means educating students how to work together in teams is important. This way students not only master individual skills but also how to cooperate together as a unit. Working in groups also allows students to build social skills with others. Group work is a great way for people to quickly get to know each other early in the class.
Flexibility
Teachers today sometimes forget the importance of being flexible.Teachers often forget how crazy the life is of a student. They might be involved in clubs, athletic teams, and academic teams. This is why it is important to be flexible to the students schedule. Also schools tend to have pep rallies which can shorten the day. These are some reasons why you should have multiple lessons planned so that you can do another one in case some arises.
Competitive learning
This is a style of learning I personally learned through athletics. Make some assignments a competition so that people compete to do the best. Everyone knows that in capitalism competition brings out the best businesses. That is why it should be applied to education as well. Giving someone motivation to be best will help push students to learn more. Competitions will allow students to learn more by pushing them to reach their potential.
Technology
The personalized clickers are a great way to introduce technology in the classroom. No longer is there need for one to waste paper on quizzes. A teacher can simply post the quiz up on a projector and a student just sends in his/her answer. The clicker program can also instantly grade everyone. It also shows how other students answered the question so the student can see how he/she is doing. The ability for a student to instantly see how he/she is doing can let them know how much harder they need to work to do well in the class.
